Uzbek seismologists got acquainted with the work carried out at the RSSС

On September 26 employees of the Center for Advanced Technologies under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, PhD in Earth Sciences Azamat Zakirov and Bobur Abdurakhmanov, who are on a visit to Azerbaijan, visited the Nardaran seismic station of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS. During the visit, Uzbek seismologists got acquainted with the principle of operation of the seismic station.

The head of the Geodynamics department of the RSSC ANAS, PhD in Geology and Mineralogy, Associate Professor Ilyas Kazimov informed the guests about complex seismic and geophysical studies conducted at the RSSC seismic stations. The head of the department also spoke about the installation of GPS stations, the processing of data collected from these stations, and the results obtained.

Another meeting of the employees of the Center for Advanced Technologies under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place with employees of the RSSC departments "Engineering Geology and Seismic Microzoning" and "Macroseismic Research". At the meeting at the RSSC, the guests got acquainted with the work of the departments.

Detailed information is provided on strong earthquakes, landslides and seismic surveys carried out on the territory of Azerbaijan, as well as on engineering-geological and engineering-seismological studies carried out on construction sites.

The possibility of joint projects in the field of seismic microzoning and engineering seismological exploration conducted in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the future is not excluded. The issues of interest to the guests were clarified at the meeting.
