Azerbaijani seismologists take part in an international conference in Georgia
A delegation of Azerbaijani seismologists headed by the General Director of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli is on a visit to Georgia.
The purpose of the visit is to participate in the international conference “From Science to Safety: Meeting Engineering Needs through Earth Science”, organized by the Institute of Earth Sciences of Georgia and the National Center for Seismological Monitoring.
The conference was attended by General Director of the RSSC ANAS, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli "Seismic monitoring of the territory of Azerbaijan", Deputy General Director of the RSSC for scientific work, Doctor of Philosophy in the field of technical sciences, Associate Professor Rauf Muradov on the results of complex seismic and geophysical studies conducted in Azerbaijan, head of the department "Dynamics of earthquake sources", PhD in Geology and Mineralogy, Associate Professor Sabina Kazimova "Modern seismogeodynamics of the territory of Azerbaijan", head of the department of "Macroseismic Research", PhD in Geology and mineralogy, Associate Professor Eytibar Garaveliyev "Zoning of the territory of Baku according to the Vs30 parameter", head of the department of "International Relations" Telman Jafarov with a report on the P750 project.
Discussions on the assessment of seismic risk and hazard in the Caucasus and Central Asia were held at the conference.
