About the station

Sheki region is at the height of 500-850 meters above sea level. Some peks of Greater Caucasus in this area reaches 3000-3500 meters. Neogeneous and anthropogenous sediments of Jurassic and Cretaceous periods are widespread in mountains of this region. Landslides are often observed in the territory of the area. As Sheki is very ancient city, time of founding of this city still is not determined. Sheki was one of the largest cities of the Albanian state. During the spread of Christianity in 4th century, the Sheki province was the religious center. Sheki is known as a center of sericulture.
