Training was conducted for RSSC employees

On September 22, 2023, employees of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS were trained on the topic “Consequences of mud volcanoes, impact on the environment and education of the population” by the Public Association “Education in the Field of Seismology” with the support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During the training, Sabina Kazimova, head of the department “Dynamics of Earthquake Sources” of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, doctor of philosophy in the field of geology-mineralogy, associate professor, introduced young people to the morphological, isotope-chemical characteristics and conditions for the formation of mud volcanoes in our country.

In her speech, Sabina Kazimova spoke about the impact of mud volcanoes on the environment and their beneficial properties. The head of the department noted that for the first time in the world, 12 seismic stations were installed around mud volcanoes on the Absheron Peninsula to monitor mud volcanoes in Azerbaijan.

At the end of the training, questions were answered.
