The RSSC honored the memory of the victims of the Khojaly tragedy

On February 26, an event dedicated to the 32nd year of the Khojaly tragedy was held at the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS. The event was attended by the Deputy General Director of the RSSC, heads and employees of the relevant departments, as well as the Deputy Chairman of the Free Trade Union of ANAS Shahla Amirova.

The participants observed a minute of silence in memory of Nationwide Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the event, Deputy General Director of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS Ramiz Iskenderov said that the Khojaly tragedy is one of the greatest tragedies committed against humanity in the twentieth century. Stating that during this tragedy, the Armenians committed atrocities against all Azerbaijanis, including children, women and the elderly, R.Iskenderov said that although this massacre committed by the Armenians occurred in front of the whole world, with the exception of several countries friendly to Azerbaijan, countries supporters of the Armenians have still not expressed their attitude towards this tragedy. For many years, Heydar Aliyev Foundation has continuously carried out actions in countries around the world to recognize and evaluate the Khojaly tragedy. “Under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the Azerbaijani army liberated Karabakh from occupation. Today, like our other cities, Khojaly is free, and life is in full swing there again,” said Ramiz Iskenderov, noting that the souls of the Khojaly martyrs have been laid to rest and asked for the mercy of Allah.

Chairman of the RSSC Trade Union, head of the Macroseismic Research department, Doctor of Philosophy in Geology and Mineralogy, Associate Professor Eytibar Garaveliyev spoke about the work being done for the Khojaly tragedy to be recognized in the world. Speaking about the 44-day Patriotic War and the 23-hour anti-terrorist operation carried out in September last year, he noted that today not only Khojaly, but also other areas where Armenians committed inhuman atrocities have gained freedom. “Today we honor the memory of the Khojaly martyrs and all our martyrs who gave their lives for the victory of the land. We are confident that their souls are at rest today.”

Later, the Electronic Services department of the RSSC presented a film dedicated to the 32nd year of the Khojaly tragedy.
