The head of the RSSC department visited America

On January 13-26, 2023, the head of the department "Dynamics of earthquake sources" of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, Ph.D. in Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Associate Professor Sabina Kazimova visited Oregon, USA.

During her visit within the framework of the "Caucasian Transect" project, Sabina Kazimova took a course "Studying a new method of seismic moment tensor of earthquake sources" under the supervision of Professor John Nabelek of the University of Oregon, USA.

It should be noted that, in addition to the components of the moment tensor, it is possible to determine the depth of the earthquake source, the seismic moment, and the magnitude of the moment from the values obtained as a result of applying the new method.
