The head of the RSSC department took part in the meeting of the General Assembly of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC)

On September 28, a meeting of the General Assembly of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) took place. The meeting, chaired by Remy Boss, general secretary of the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), was attended by representatives of the participating countries online. The Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS was represented by the head of the department "Dynamics of earthquake sources", doctor of philosophy in geology and mineralogy, associate professor Sabina Kazimova.

The meeting discussed the signing of an agreement on the exchange of information between agencies (seismological centers, institutes, etc.) and the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC). Under the agreement, the data collected by the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) will be licensed. During the discussion, representatives of the participating countries expressed their views on the draft agreement.There were also suggestions for making some changes to the document.

As a result of the discussions, it was decided to draw up a final protocol taking into account the voiced proposals and send it to all EMSC member countries for signing. It should be noted that the RSSC ANAS has been a member of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center since 2006.RSSC regularly sends earthquake information to EMSC in the framework of bilateral cooperation.
