The head of the National Academic Network and Information Center TUBITAK visited the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS
On November 17, Mehmet Mirat Satoglu, head of the National Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBIM) of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), visited the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS.
The meeting was attended by the General Director of the RSSC, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli, head of the department of the Electronic Academy of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy in the field of mathematical sciences, Associate Professor Fariz Imranov and employees and heads of specialized departments of the RSSC.

The General Director said that there is a regular exchange of experience and information between seismologists from Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Next, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli spoke about gravimetric, magnetometric, engineering-seismic and macroseismic studies carried out by the Center’s employees in the city of Kahramanmaraş, which suffered the most in the seismic region of Turkey, and the city of Pazarchik, which became the epicenter of the earthquake. Professor Gurban Yetirmishli, who spoke about the prospects for cooperation in the main scientific areas envisaged in the field of earthquake research with AFAD, said that the installation of a borehole seismic station donated by AFAD to Azerbaijan continues in Shusha.
Professor Gurban Yetirmishli also informed the Turkish guest about the scientific publication of the Center “Seismoprognosis observations on the territory of Azerbaijan”. Noting that the journal is published twice a year in English, the General Director of the RSSC said that the journal publishes articles by local and foreign scientists on the results of seismological and geophysical research.
Mehmet Mirat Satoglu, head of the National Academic Network and Information Center TUBITAK (ULAKBIM), spoke about the history of the creation of the Dərgi Park ULAKBIM electronic database registry and the current requirements for posting journals.
Next, head of the department “Dynamics of Earthquake Sources” of the RSSC, Doctor of Philosophy in the field of geology-mineralogy, associate professor Sabina Kazimova, made a report on the results of scientific research conducted at the Republican Seismic Survey Center, the activities of the network of seismic stations and newly opened seismic stations.
