The Council of Women was established at the RSSC

A meeting on the creation of the Council of Women was held at the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS. The meeting was chaired by Azay Rzayev, deputy of general director of the RSSC, doctor of philosophy in physics and mathematics, attended by the chairman of the Trade Union of the RSSC, the head of the “Macroseismic researches” department, doctor of philosophy in geological and mineralogical sciences, docent Eytibar Garaveliyev and the employees of the Center.

Speaking at the event, the head of the “Information” department Vusala Rafig-gizi (Huseynova) spoke about the importance of creating a Council of Women, the role of women employees of ANAS in the scientific, cultural and socio-political life of our country. Noting that for the first time Azerbaijani women received suffrage in the Muslim East, the head of the “Information” department noted: “Today, women play an important role in the socio-political life of our country. The government has created all opportunities for women to study and work. Women's rights are also protected at the highest level in the legislation of our country.” She also emphasized that the activities of the First Vice President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva is an example for all women.

Then, candidates were selected for the Council of Management of the Women's Council. As a result of the discussions, nine women were nominated for membership in the Management Board. According to the results of an open voting, the head of the “Human Resources” department Farida Akhundova, the head of the “Dynamics of Earthquake Sources” department, doctor of philosophy in geology and mineralogy, docent Sabina Kazimova, the head of the “Information” department Vusala Huseynova, junior researcher at the “Analysis and Interpretation of Seismological Data” department Tarana Kazimova, junior researcher at the “Magnetometry” department Aygun Davudova, electronics engineer at the “Instrumental” department Lala Fattakhova, engineer at the “Complex Geochemical Research” department Khoshgedem Yusifova, junior researcher at the department of “International Relations” Leyla Ashurova and junior researcher at the department of “Geodynamics” Gulkhanim Askerli were elected members of the Board of Management.

Later, a meeting of the Management Council of the Women's Council of the RSSC was held. Members of the Management Council - Farida Akhundova, head of the “Human Resources” department, and Leyla Ashurova, junior researcher at the “International Relations” department, nominated Vusala Huseynova, head of the “Information” department, to the post of chairman of the Council and put the question to the vote. As a result of the vote, Vusala Huseynova, head of the “Information” department, was elected chairman of the Council of Women of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, and Leyla Ashurova, junior researcher at the “International Relations” department - secretary of the Council.
