Seismic station employees of the RSSC were trained
On December 6, a training was held at the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS for the managers and technical personnel of seismic stations located in the republic, at which the employees of seismic stations were informed about the principles of operation of new seismic instruments and equipment, as well as technical safety rules.
According to the Executive Director of the RSSC, doctor of philosophy in the field of technical sciences, associate professor Rauf Muradov, the RSSC of ANAS is the only state organization conducting earthquake research in the republic. Noting that seismological studies are currently being conducted on the basis of data received from seismic stations, the Executive Director noted that the stations are operating continuously, and stressed the importance of station employees learning the principles of new instruments and equipment, as well as new technologies used in processing seismic data.
Ramiz Iskenderov, Chief Engineer of the RSSC, told that many seismic stations are located in high-mountainous regions, about the preparatory work being carried out there in connection with the autumn-winter season.
Head of the Geodynamics department of the RSSC, PhD in Geology and Mineralogy, Associate Professor Ilyas Kazimov explained to the employees of seismic stations the principle of operation of seismic instruments and equipment, GPS data collection, and also conducted training on other topics.
Later, the head of the Civil Defense Headquarters of the RSSC, Djahid Huseynov, informed the employees of seismic stations in detail about civil defense measures.
