RSSC signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Architecture and Construction

A Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Geography named after academician Hasan Aliyev and the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS was signed today at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction in accordance with the strategy of expanding cooperation between research institutes and universities.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the rector of the university, doctor of architecture, professor Gulchokhra Mammadova said that the university has signed bilateral cooperation agreements with a number of scientific organizations, government institutions and companies in order to improve student learning and improve students' practical knowledge. Noting that the work of both the Institute of Geography and the Republican Seismic Survey Center is close to the construction field, the rector expressed confidence that cooperation with organizations will be beneficial for both parties.

Director of the Institute of Geography named after academician Hasan Aliyev, academician Ramiz Mammadov praised the work done in recent years at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction in the direction of the unity of science and education, noting that this knowledge will continue to be applied in the practical field.

The general director of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli said in his speech that the work done in the field of construction is directly related to seismology. Stressing the importance of seismic assessment of these areas before the construction of new buildings, the general director noted that Baku is located on a complex relief, where in the same area seismic assessment data is constantly changing.

Stating that the cooperation between the University of Architecture and Construction and the RSSC continues to this day, Gurban Yetirmishli expressed confidence that the Memorandum of Understanding would make a positive contribution to the development of bilateral relations.

Further, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the parties. Speaking after the signing ceremony, Hikmet Mammadov, dean of the Faculty of Construction of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, and head of the department Islam Mustafayev spoke about the importance of the documents signed by both organizations and expressed hope that these documents will be successful in developing of the cooperation.
