RSSC General Director spoke at the conference “Financial system resistant to catastrophic risks” in Baku

On May 22, a conference on the topic “Financial system resistant to catastrophic risks” was held in Baku with the participation of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, the Bureau of Compulsory Insurance, T-rupt and other institutions. The conference was attended by representatives of the Earthquake Fund of the Republic of Turkey, a number of government agencies and financial organizations of Azerbaijan, including the General Director of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli and employees of the Center. The conference featured important discussions towards improving the emergency preparedness of buildings and financial systems.

General Director of the RSSC, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli made an extensive report at the conference on the topic “Seismic activity in Azerbaijan.” In his report, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli provided participants with detailed information about the seismic network of Azerbaijan and the principles of its operation, historical catalogues of earthquakes in Azerbaijan and seismically active regions of Azerbaijan.

The General Director also spoke about the important work to be done in reducing the risks of earthquakes and comprehensive seismological studies carried out in our country.
