RSSC employees took part in the webinar

On May 25, the American company “Kinemetrics” held another webinar. The webinar was attended by the head of the Bureau for Earthquake Research of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, Ph.D. in Earth Sciences Saida Ismayilova and software engineer of the Bureau Yegana Muradova.

This time the webinar was hosted by Professor Derek Skolnick, representative of Kinemetrics. The scientist made a presentation "Earthquake resistance in hospitals: the OasisPlus study". It was noted that during an earthquake, the focus is on infrastructure and services. The most important of these is the availability of health facilities and the services they provide. As the population's need for hospitals increases during and after an earthquake, it is important that these regional centers continue to function. Professor Derek Skolnick also gave a presentation on how two hospitals in high seismic areas are implementing real-time earthquake intervention systems and procedures.

It should be noted that starting from 2020, “Kinemetrics” organizes monthly online webinars, in which RSSC employees regularly participate.
