RSSC employees completed an internship at Turkey's Kocaeli University
From December 15-14, 2023, a researcher at the department of “Engineering Geology and Seismic Microzoning” of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, Ilhama Jalilova, completed an internship at Kocaeli University in Turkey, under the project “Study of the assessment of seismicity of the territory of buildings and structures under construction using modern methods”, funded by Azerbaijan Scientific Foundation.
During her internship, Ilhama Jalilova studied at Kocaeli University in the field of “Acceleration-Deceleration Relationships.”
On December 22, Ilhama Jalilova made a presentation at the RSSC about her experience of studying at Kocaeli University of the Republic of Turkey.
The presentation was attended by the General Director of the RSSC, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli, the Executive Director of the RSSC, Doctor of Philosophy in the field of technical sciences, Associate Professor Rauf Muradov, as well as heads and employees of the Center’s departments.
Noting that a catalogue of acceleration values for earthquakes with magnitudes above 5 has been created for the “Acceleration-Deceleration Relationship” in Turkey, Ilhama Jalilova reported on the use of Kocaeli University’s own acceleration-deceleration relationship functions, some of these functions are also suitable for Azerbaijan.
Further, the questions that interested the participants were clarified.
Lamiya Iskenderova, junior researcher at the department of “Engineering Geology and Seismic Microzoning” of the RSSC, also completed an internship in the field of “Acceleration-Deceleration Relationships” at Kocaeli University.
