Representatives of GEANT visited RSSC

On May 11, an event was held at the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS with the participation of representatives of the European National Research and Education Network (GEANT). The event was attended by the executive director of the RSSC ANAS, Ph.D. in Technical Sciences Rauf Muradov, the head of the Bureau of Earthquake Research, Ph.D. in Earth Sciences Saida Ismayilova, the executive director of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS, Ph.D. in Technical Sciences Rashid Alakbarov, project manager of GEANT Irina Mattheus, Communications Manager Rozanna Norman, Communications Manager Neringa Jackvaus, Network Manager Ieva Muraskine (Lithuania), GEANT Representative Steffie Bosman, TUBITAK Representative in Turkey Ebru Soyuyuce Aydın.

 

Rauf Muradov, executive director of the Center, doctor of philosophy in technical sciences, informed the guests about the research carried out at the Center.

Saida Ismayilova, head of the Bureau of Earthquake Research, doctor of philosophy in Earth sciences, informed the guests about the creation of the RSSC seismic monitoring network, processing of data from seismic stations, new seismic stations installed as part of an international grant project, as well as the installation of new seismic stations in Karabakh. She informed in detail about the work done.

  

Egyana Muradova, an employee of the Bureau, made a presentation on the reception and processing of information about earthquakes obtained as a result of the use of new technologies, the programs used for processing and information.

Executive director of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS, Doctor of philosophy in the field of technical sciences Rashid Alekperov said that one of the organizations with which the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS cooperates most closely is the RSSC. He noted that the archival data of the RSSC are located in the Institute's Data Center and are protected.

                     

At the event, representatives of GEANT expressed their opinion on the work done, noting that the system created at the Center is very modern and is of great importance for the country.

It should be noted that in September this year Baku will host an international conference organized by GEANT and supported by the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS. It is expected that the conference will be attended by representatives of 50 countries.
