Representative of the Oxford University visits mud volcano area near Shirvan

Ian Pearce, researcher of the University of Oxford, Great Britain, together with the head of the department "Dynamics of earthquake sources" of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, doctor of philosophy in geology and mineralogy, associate professor Sabina Kazimova, visited Shirvan and adjacent zones of active faults, as well as the territory around the mud volcanoes. The visit of the representative of the University of Oxford is of informational character.

It should be noted that the representatives of the Oxford University, together with the institutes and scientific organizations that are part of the Department of Earth Sciences of ANAS, intend to conduct scientific research in the zone of active faults in Azerbaijan. Their next visit to our country is scheduled for April next year.
