Regular discussions within the framework of the project "Expansion of the seismic network in the Caucasus and Central Asia" were held

On August 18, regular discussions within the framework of the project "Expansion of the seismic network in the Caucasus and Central Asia", implemented with the support of the Scientific and Technical Center of Ukraine, of seismic stations to be installed in Azerbaijan, with the participation of representatives of relevant departments of partner countrieswere held.

From the Azerbaijani side, TelmanJafarov, head of the "International Relations" department of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, took part in the discussions.

During online discussions, project participants and representatives of partner countries discussed the installation of new stations, the expansion of the seismic monitoring network and the improvement of the quality of research.

Note that 22 new seismic stations will be installed in Azerbaijan thanks to the grant project of the Scientific and Technical Center of Ukraine. 12 of these stations will be installed around mud volcanoes on the Absheron Peninsula, and 10 seismic stations will be installed in different regions of the country. At the initial stage, installation work has already begun. After the installation of these stations, the number of seismic stations will reach 84.
