Regular discussions were held on the project "Expansion of the seismic network in the Caucasus and Central Asia"

On May 20, the next discussion of seismic stations to be installed in Azerbaijan took place within the framework of the project "Expansion of the seismic network in the Caucasus and Central Asia", implemented with the support of the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine.

In discussions with representatives of partner organizations from the United States and Ukraine, Azerbaijan was represented by deputy of general director of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANASfor scientific part, doctor of philosophy in technical sciences, associate professor Rauf Muradov and head of the “International Relations” department TelmanDjafarov.

Note that 22 new seismic stations will be installed in Azerbaijan thanks to the grant project of the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine. 12 of these stations will be installed around mud volcanoes on the Absheron Peninsula, and 10 seismic stations will be installed in different regions of the country. Thus, the network of seismic stations in Azerbaijan will be expanded and the number of stations will reach 84.
