Professor of Oxford University Rashid Djavanshir visited RSSC

Discussions continue on cooperation and implementation of joint projects between the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS and the Oxford University of Great Britain. On July 14, a representative of Oxford University, corresponding member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Professor Rashid Djavanshir, visited the Republican Seismic Survey Center. The meeting was attended by the general director of the RSSC, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli, vice president of ANAS, head of the Division of Earth Sciences, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, deputy of general director of the RSSC for science Rauf Muradov, as well as heads of departments of the Center.

During the meeting, the research methods used in the field of earthquake studies of the RSSC, as well as issues related to geodynamic and geophysical research were discussed. During the discussions, areas of cooperation with Oxford University in the UK were also discussed and proposals were made for the exchange of experience.

Sabina Kazimova, doctor of philosophy in geological and mineralogical sciences, associate professor, head of the "Dynamics of earthquake sources" department made a presentation on the activities of the RSSC.

Recall that Professor of Oxford University Richard Walker will visit Azerbaijan in September 2021.
