Participants of the “Scientists of Tomorrow” project visited the RSSC
On November 30, Tunar Khankishizade and Mansura Hasanzade, students of the 11th (IT) grade, under the supervision of Tunzale Rasulova, a physics teacher at the Gymnasium of Foreign Languages named after Sattar Bahlulzade, visited the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS to prepare on the topic “earthquake information detector” as part of the competition "Scientists of Tomorrow."
First of all, the head of the RSSC Earthquake Research Bureau, Saida Ismayilova, Ph.D. in Earth Sciences, gave detailed information about the RSSC network of seismic stations, the process of receiving and processing signals from seismic stations, as well as complex geophysical and seismological studies conducted at the Center.
In addition, schoolchildren became familiar with seismic instruments and equipment. RSSC employee Azer Zahidov introduced students to the operating principles of seismic devices and equipment. Azer Zahidov also said that currently there is no accurate forecast of earthquakes in the world. Therefore, it is impossible to make an accurate prediction in advance that an earthquake will occur in a certain area.
