On the occasion of World Civil Defense Day at the RSSС was held an event

At the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, with the support of the Trade Union of the Center, an event was held on the occasion of March 1 - World Civil Defense Day.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the RSSC Trade Union, head of the Macroseismic Research department, Doctor of Philosophy in Geology and Mineralogy, Associate Professor Eytibar Garaveliyev noted that conducting Civil Defense activities is important for every institution and every country. E.Garaveliyev, noting that the RSSC constantly holds events in this area, spoke about the importance of educational activities in the field of organizing Civil Defense.

At the meeting, the Chief of the RSSC Civil Defense Headquarters Azad Rzayev presented information about the creation and history of “March 1 – World Civil Defense Day”. A.Rzayev said that by decision of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO), since 1972, March 1 has been celebrated as World Civil Defense Day in the organization’s member countries. Azerbaijan has been a member of this international organization since 1993. Azad Rzayev noted that organizing the protection of the population and ensuring preparation in case of emergency situations is the number one task for the civil defense authorities. He noted the importance of measures related to civil defense and emphasized the need for educational work in this area.

Further, the Deputy Head of the Civil Defense Department of the Presidium of ANAS, Hikmet Babayev, noted that the emergence of new technologies in the world in recent years has had an impact on all areas and spoke about the educational work carried out in the field of Civil Defense.

The event ended with the screening of a video dedicated to the Civil Defense exercises.
