Istanbul hosts a meeting of the participants of the project "Seismic network expansion in the Caucasus and Central Asia"

On May 9, 2022, a meeting with the participation of delegations from partner countries participating in the project “Seismic network expansion in the Caucasus and Central Asia” began in Istanbul, Turkey. The meeting, which will take place on May 9-11, will discuss the work done by the partner countries in the framework of the project and the results achieved.

Azerbaijan is represented at the meeting by the vice-president of ANAS, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, general director of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli, head of the “Dynamics of earthquake sources” department of the RSSC, doctor of philosophy in the field of geological and mineralogical sciences, associate professor Sabina Kazimova, deputy head of the "Earthquake research Bureau" of the RSSC, system administrator Rugiya Kerimova and head of the "International relations" department of the RSSC Telman Djafarov.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation will also take part in a meeting on May 12-13 "Probabilistic assessment of seismic hazard in the Caucasus and Central Asia."
