Georgian seismologists visited the RSSC Monitoring Center
Professor Thea Godoladze, Director of the Center for Seismological Monitoring of the Institute of Earth Sciences of the Georgian State University named after Ilya, and Albert Vuzaladze, an employee of this Center, visited the Monitoring Center of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS.
On October 24-25, Georgian seismologists discussed a new server system for 22 new seismic stations installed in Azerbaijan within the framework of the project "Expansion of the seismic network in the Caucasus and Central Asia" with employees of the Bureau of Earthquake Research of the RSSC. The meeting was attended by the head of the Bureau, Doctor of Philosophy in Earth Sciences Saida Ismayilova, deputy head of the Bureau Rugiya Kerimova and employees of the Bureau. During the meeting, the technical parameters of the newly created server system, the principles of operation and issues related to the processing of the received data by means of high-tech programs were discussed.
Georgian seismologists also held meetings with employees of the departments of the RSSC "Dynamics of earthquake sources" and "Analysis and interpretation of seismological materials". The meeting held in the department "Dynamics of earthquake sources" was attended by the head of the department, Ph.D. in geological and mineralogical sciences, associate professor Sabina Kazimova, the head of the department "Analysis and interpretation of seismological materials" Rasima Abdullayeva, as well as employees of both departments.
At the meetings, the main discussions concerned the work carried out under the project "Expansion of the seismic network in the Caucasus and Central Asia."
