General Director of RSSC visited Turkey

On January 8-14, 2023, the General Director of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli visited the Republic of Turkey.

During the visit, the General Director of the RSSC held a series of business meetings at the Kandilli Observatory, the Department of Earthquakes of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey (AFAD), the Regional Earthquake and Tsunami Monitoring Center and Bogazici University. 

At the meetings, the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the field of seismology, the installation of a seismic station in Shusha with the support of AFAD, the joint participation of seismologists from the two fraternal countries in international megaprojects, mutual exchange of data from seismic stations and other issues were discussed.

It was also noted that in the future Turkey plans to provide Azerbaijan with 10 GPS stations.
