Baku hosts an event on the theme of “Earthquake resistance and natural disaster prevention”

An event entitled “Earthquake resistance and natural disaster prevention” is taking place in Baku. The event will focus on issues related to earthquakes, eliminating the possible consequences of earthquakes, seismic assessment of buildings and structures under construction and compliance with building codes, as well as awareness-raising activities in this area.

The event was addressed by the general director of Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli. In his speech, the general director of the RSSC emphasized the importance of studying the seismicity of the regions in which the buildings are located, and noted that the seismic resistance of buildings largely depends on compliance with construction standards.

The event, which ends on February 12, will be attended by representatives of local government bodies, as well as foreign experts.
