At the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was held a meeting with the head of ULAKBIM Mehmet Mirat Satoglu
On November 18, at the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, was held a meeting with the head of the National Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBIM) of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK), Mehmet Mirat Satoglu.
The meeting was attended by the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli, members of the Presidium of ANAS, general directors of scientific institutions and organizations, executive directors, employees of electronic services and international departments.
Academician Isa Habibbayli, who spoke at the meeting held at the Presidium of ANAS, said that the centuries-old friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are experiencing their highest period, close cooperation in all areas, and these relations are an example for the whole world.
Speaking about the activities of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli said that the “Electronic Academy” department has been created at ANAS. According to him, electronic services departments have been organized in scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS, the purpose of which is to ensure the improvement of websites and scientific journals. Academician Isa Habibbayli said that in order to increase the number of links to Azerbaijani scientists, their academic profiles have been opened in Google Scholar, and DOI identifiers have been assigned to articles. He noted that today about 30 journals are published at ANAS, and their inclusion in the prestigious register of the electronic database ULAKBIM Dərgi Park will make an important contribution to communicating the scientific achievements of our scientists to the world. The President of ANAS emphasized that ULAKBIM is considered the SCOPUS of the Turkish world.
Next, the head of the “Electronic Academy” department of the Presidium of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy of Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Fariz Imranov made a report. Associate Professor Fariz Imranov, who provided information about the activities of the Electronic Academy, also spoke about the English-language magazine, Wikipedia and the official website of the RSSC. Associate Professor Fariz Imranov noted that the RSSC Monitoring Center is equipped with modern equipment. In the presentation, Fariz Imranov, who provided information about the ANAS index page in Google Scholar, also noted that the General Director of the RSSC, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli is at the top of this list.
Mehmet Mirat Satoglu, head of the National Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBIM) (TUBITAK), made a presentation and informed about the procedure for submitting applications and including ANAS journals in the register of the electronic database ULAKBIM Dərgi Park.
General Director of the RSSC, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli informed about the seismic stations of the Center operating in the country, scientific methods used in complex seismological, geophysical and geodynamic studies. Professor Gurban Yetirmishli also informed the Turkish guest about the scientific publication of the Center “Seismoprognosis observations on the territory of Azerbaijan”. Noting that the journal is published twice a year in English, the General Director of the RSSC said that the journal publishes articles by local and foreign scientists on the results of seismological and geophysical research. At the same time, our articles are published in foreign journals.
Expressing gratitude for the meeting, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli supported the inclusion of scientific journals of ANAS in the prestigious register of the electronic database ULAKBIM Dərgi Park. Professor Gurban Yetirmishli noted that his articles have many references, mainly from foreign countries, and this is the result of projects and work carried out by the RSSC jointly with foreign scientific centers. He noted that the RSSC works closely with prestigious universities around the world - the University of Oxford in the UK, the University of Missouri in the USA, as well as universities in Turkey.
The meeting continued with a discussion of issues of interest.
