A Memorandum between the Seismological Centers of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan was signed
On May 15, at the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, was held a meeting with a delegation led by the head of the Republican Center for Seismic Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kahraman Kuchkarov.
General Director of the RSSC ANAS, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli welcomed the guests and provided detailed information about the comprehensive seismological, geophysical, geochemical and geodynamic studies carried out at the Center. Noting that Azerbaijan closely cooperates with many centers of seismological services around the world, the General Director said that it is important to further expand relations with brotherly Uzbekistan.
Kahraman Kuchkarov, head of the Republican Center for Seismic Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan, spoke about joint cooperation with Azerbaijan. He noted that joint cooperation is useful in terms of mutual exchange of experience between the parties, as well as joint participation in international projects.
At the meeting, a Memorandum was signed providing for joint cooperation between seismological centers of the two countries. During the signing ceremony, memorable gifts were presented.
Next, the guests got acquainted with the work of the RSSC Monitoring Center. The head of the department “Dynamics of Earthquake Sources” of the RSSC, Doctor of Philosophy in Geology and Mineralogy, Associate Professor Sabina Kazimova made a report on the scientific research carried out at the Center and the obtained results.
