A meeting with the participation of heads of seismic stations was held at the RSSC
On December 21, was held a meeting with the participation of managers and employees of seismic stations of the Republican Seismic Survey Center (RSSC) of ANAS.
General Director of the RSSC, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli said that the main purpose of the meeting is to discuss the work done by seismic stations during 2023, as well as training technical information for station employees on the issues and principles of operation of instruments and equipment.
Speaking about the earthquakes that occurred in Azerbaijan in 2023, the general director said that since seismic stations operate in “real time”, the data recorded by the stations is directly transmitted to the Earthquake Research Bureau and then processed.
General Director Gurban Yetirmishli also emphasized the importance of taking the necessary measures in advance to prevent any technical problems that may arise during the work, and spoke about the challenges facing Azerbaijani seismologists.
Noting that the Center will also begin seismic research in Karabakh, the general director emphasized that technical work continues towards the installation of the Shusha seismic station.
Professor Gurban Yetirmishli said that early presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan on February 7, 2024, noting that Azerbaijani seismologists support the candidacy of Respected President Ilham Aliyev, and also called on all employees to be active in the elections. Stating that the early presidential elections on February 7 will be elections of Victory, the general director said that elections will be held throughout Azerbaijan, including in Karabakh. The General Director of the RSSC expressed gratitude to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Respected President Ilham Aliyev, the soldiers and officers of the Azerbaijani Army, our martyrs and veterans, for the Glorious Victory that each of us experienced.
At the meeting, the chief engineer of the RSSC, Ramiz Iskenderov, provided information on the ongoing technical work at seismic stations, construction and repair work. The head of the Earthquake Research Bureau, Doctor of Philosophy in the field of Earth Sciences Saida Ismayilova and heads of seismic stations also spoke, expressing their opinions and suggestions regarding the work done.
It is worth noting that the training of managers and employees of seismic stations will end on December 22.
