A meeting of the Earth Sciences Section of the RSSC was held

On April 14, a regular meeting of the Earth Sciences Section of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS was held. The meeting discussed the research work of the RSSC for the first quarter of 2023. The seminar was attended by the General Director of the RSSC, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli, executive director, Doctor of Philosophy in the field of technical sciences, Associate Professor Rauf Muradov, as well as heads of departments of the Center.

At the seminar, reports were made by the head of the department "Dynamics of earthquake sources" of the RSSC, Ph.D. in geological and mineralogical sciences, associate professor Sabina Kazimova - "The study of seismicity and seismotectonics of the territory of Azerbaijan, including territories liberated from occupation (2021-2025)" and "Determination of the epicentral zones of historical earthquakes in the Greater Caucasus according to paleoseismological data (2023-2024)", acting head of the "Magnitometry" department Nadirshakh Khanbabayev - "Comprehensive geophysical studies of the territory of Azerbaijan (2021-2025)", head of the "Geodynamics" department, Ph.D. in geology and mineralogy, associate professor Ilyas Kazimov - "Modern geodynamics of the Eastern Mediterranean, the Caucasus region (including the territory of Karabakh) (2021-2025)", head of the "Macroseismic researches" department, Ph.D. in geology and mineralogy, associate professor Eytibar Garaveliyev -"Study of seismic hazard factors on the Absheron Peninsula (2021-2024)", researcher of the department "Complex Geochemical Researches" Aybeniz Keramova - "The role of anomalies of fluid hydrogeochemical fields in modern geodynamics (2023-2024)".

The meeting ended with a discussion of the presented reports.
