RSSC hosted a meeting with representatives of AFAD

On February 9, was held a meeting at the Monitoring Center of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS with representatives of the Department of Earthquakes of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey. The meeting was attended by the General Director of RSSC ANAS, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Gurban Yetirmishli, Head of the AFAD Delegation, Professor Bahadir Aktug, employees of the AFAD Department of Earthquakes Vedat Ozsaradj, Derya Aksel, Head of the “Earthquake Research Bureau” of the RSSC, PhD in Earth Sciences Saida Ismayilova, Deputy Head of the Bureau Rugiya Kerimova, Head of the department "Dynamics of Earthquake Sources", PhD in Geology and Mineralogy, Associate Professor Sabina Kazimova, Head of the department "Geodynamics", PhD in Geology and Mineralogy, Associate Professor Ilyas Kazimov, head of the Department “International Relations” Telman Djafarov.

At the meeting, issues of bilateral cooperation between the RSSC and the AFAD Department of Earthquakes, projects to be implemented jointly, issues related to the seismic station to be installed in Shusha were discussed.

It should be noted that the head of the "International Relations" department of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS Telman Djafarov and the representative of the AFAD Department of Earthquakes Vedat Ozsaradj visited Shusha to inspect the selected site for the placement of a seismic station to be installed in Shusha. During the visit, the Turkish expert got acquainted with the area where the seismic station will be installed.

It should be noted that work related to the installation of a seismic station in Shusha has already begun, and the equipment of this station will be donated to Azerbaijan by the fraternal Turkish Republic.
