Head of the Complex Geochemical Research department of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS has passed away
Ramida Keramova, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, head of the Complex Geochemical Research department of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, has passed away.
Ramida Keramova was born in 1947 in Baku. She received her higher education at the Geological Prospecting Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University) in the specialty of Search and Exploration of Mineral Deposits. She completed her postgraduate studies at the same university in the specialty of Hydrogeology.
R.Keramova, the author of a number of scientific works, is also a member of the Azerbaijan Seismologists Association. In 1979, for the first time in Azerbaijan, under the leadership of Ramida Keramova, a new scientific direction was developed to address the issues of seismic prognosis of strong earthquakes - seismogeochemistry, created at the junction of three fields of science - hydrogeology, geochemistry and seismology. By order of the leadership of the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, seismogeochemical stations were created in seismogenic zones of Azerbaijan, which provided year-round seismogeochemical monitoring of fluids.
Ramida Keramova developed a method for preventing accidents during drilling of geological exploration wells based on SFGD monitoring.
Ramida Keramova passed away at the age of 77 after a long illness.
The memory of Ramida Keramova will always live in the hearts of those who knew her.
May she rest in peace!
