AFAD delegation visits Azerbaijan

On February 6-10, 2023, representatives of the Department of Earthquakes of the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey and the Turkish company MDSOFT visited Azerbaijan. The AFAD delegation headed by Professor Bahadir Aktug was represented by Vedat Ozsaradj, Head of the AFAD Earthquake Department, as well as employees of the Department Derya Aksel, Doruk Shenturk, Engin Chorukh, Kadir Yildiz, Okan Shahbaz.

During the visit, within the framework of the Protocol-agreement reached between the AFAD Earthquake Department and the Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS, the programs developed in Turkey for the purpose of processing and analyzing data from 22 newly installed seismic stations in Azerbaijan were considered. Trainings were held for employees of the departments of the RSSC "Dynamics of earthquake sources" and "Geodynamics".

Also, new programs developed by Professor Bahadir Aktug for GPS data analysis were discussed with the head of the Geodynamics department, Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy, Associate Professor Ilyas Kazimov.
